2005 Appeal
Parish Church Appeal 2005
Work has commenced on Phase II of the restoration of the church. Damp and damaged
plaster in the interior has been removed and re-rendered. The great east window, which is
the village war memorial, is to be cleaned, and repairs to the stonework undertaken. Work
on the chancel floor has been completed. The whole church is then to be redecorated. The
cost of this Phase is around £20,000 and we urgently need donations to make sure that we
hand this beautiful building on to future generations in good order. Perhaps our friends and
relations who have left the village to live abroad would like to help us with our work. Any
contributions would, of course, be very gratefully received. Please contact Brian Payne on
Parish Church Appeal 2004
It is exactly one hundred years since the last major
restoration of the Parish Church of Wisbech St Mary was
completed. Now the relentless rain and frost of one hundred
winters have meant that the fabric of the church needs urgent
attention.
We need to raise at least £20,000 as soon as possible so
that work can begin before the winter storms arrive. Please would
you help us to obtain enough funds to repair this ancient
building?
If you would like to make a donation to help retain this wonderful and
ancient church so that it can be successfully handed over to the next generation,
please contact Mr Brian Payne by e-mail at . Thank you.
